In the year 1972 the hospital was shifted to its present location at Sector – 12. From then on the hospital grew gradually over the last 35 years in the same location to the present status of 300-beds.

The main objective of the hospital is to provide holistic healthcare services-preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative-under the allopathic system. Although GHG is a district hospitals. It operates more like a general hospital meeting the primary, secondary and select tertiary healthcare needs of the masses in the city.
